Master of my child’s life, speak to the mountains of shame, rejection and lies in ________’s life. Command these mountains to throw themselves into the sea.
I pray that _______ seize life and live it with gusto and a robust heart, knowing that You, Lord, take pleasure in her (his) pleasure. Let her (him) start her (his) day festively, relishing the people she loves, knowing she lives a precarious life. Each day is God’s gift; let her (him) make the most of each one.
I ask, Lord, that You teach________ to delight far more in what You tell her (him) about living than in gathering a pile of riches.
I pray that ________’s heart will grow to desire You above all else in heaven and earth. Open her heart allowing You to become to her (him) all she (he) will ever need or want while she (he) is on this planet. Let Your nearness be her (his) good. Let her (him) choose to make You, Lord God, her (his) refuge, telling of all Your good works.
Lord, you are urging ________ to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large including everything as she (he) embraces this God-life, and she (he) will get God’s everything. And when ________ assumes the posture of prayer, remind her (him) that it’s not all asking. If she (he) has anything against someone, let her (him) actively forgive—only then will You, heavenly Father, be inclined to also wipe her (his) slate clean of sins.
I pray that _______ will not be taken in by religious smooth talk. God, you get furious with people who are full of religious sales talk but want nothing to do with You. Protect her (him) from being around people like that. Surround her (him) with people who know and love Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
With your very own hands you formed _______. Now, Lord, breathe your wisdom over her (him) so she (he) can understand you…Oh love her (him) – and right now – hold her (him) tight just the way you promised. Comfort ________ so she (he) can live, really live.
Father, I claim the truth of this promise for my child: “I will show you where to go. I will give you a full life in the emptiest of places – firm muscles, strong bones. You will be like a well-watered garden.”
I pray that ________ keeps a firm grip on Your promises, Lord, that can keep her (him) going. You always keep Your Word. Challenge her (him) to see how inventive she (he) can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshipping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big day approaching.
Father, would you reveal Yourself clearly to _______, touch her (him) and with your hand on her (him) lift her (him) up, removing her (his) fears.
