When pushed to the wall, I pray that ________ calls to You, God; from the wide open spaces, answer her (him) reassuring her (him) that You are at her (his) side so she (he) will not be afraid; who would dare lay a hand on her (him)? “God’s my strong champion”, she (he) will declare flicking off her (his) enemies like flies. Far better for ________ to take refuge in God than trust in people; far better for her (him) to take refuge in God than trust in celebrities.

Lord, help ________ to not give sin a vote in the way she (he) conducts her (his) life; to not give it the time of day; to not even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Let her throw herself (himself) wholeheartedly and full-time into God’s way of doing things, remembering she (he) has been raised from the dead. She (He) doesn’t have to live under that old tyranny any longer, but can live in the freedom of God.
