Jesus, may you yourself and God our Father, reach out in love and surprise ________ with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in ________, invigorate her (his) work, and enliven her (his) speech. Do not let her (him) down, stick by her (him) and protect her (him) from evil. As her (his) Master, take her (him) by the hand and lead her (him) along the path of God’s love and Christ’s endurance.
I pray that ________ won’t lose a minute in building on what she (he) has been given, complementing her (his) basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in her (his) life, no grass will grow under her (his) feet, no day will pass without its reward as she (he) matures in her (his) experience of our Master Jesus.
I pray that You, Lord, will be ________’s refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble and that she (he) will not fear, even when life seems to be falling apart around her (him).
Father, please remove any rocks or thorns from the soil of ________’s heart, which would prevent your word from taking root or cause it to be choked out. Let her (his) heart receive your word in good soil; hearing the word, retaining it, and producing a crop by persevering.
Like Joseph, let ________ choose to focus on what you, Lord, have done for her (him) instead of what has been done to her (him). Help her (him) live as a victor instead of as a victim.
Lord, God, completely win over ________’s heart. Go with her into her (his) wilderness and speak words of comfort to her (him). Turn her (his) Heartbreak Valley into Acres of Hope, causing her (him) to respond to you freely, singing as a child again.
